Killer still at large a week after father-of-two died in Sheffield UK News

Khurm Javed, 30, was killed in Clough Road, near Bramall Lane, last Saturday night.

Detectives investigating the murder said shots were fired after a “ two-party confrontation ”, but no further details have yet been released.

Khurm, a married father of two, was a lawyer for the London Road based law firm Alison Law Solicitors.

Two men, aged 21 and 23, were arrested for murder earlier this week before being released on bail after police questioning.

Sheffield District Commander, Temporary Chief Superintendent Shelley Hemsley, released a statement following the murder in which she stressed that tackling gun crime is a priority for city officers.

The Chief of Police said: ‘I want to be clear that the fight against gun crime is a priority for my teams here in Sheffield, important work is underway to deter, detect and disrupt criminals involved in this type of crime .

“Our dedicated armed crime team, formed last year, has had significant successes, including the seizure of 66 illegally held firearms in 2020.

“Operation Fortify, which unites police and partner agencies, is also disrupting the work of organized crime groups, collecting and sharing information on key locations and criminals.

She added: “What is essential is that the community works with the police, that community leaders and representatives engage with us, talk to us and share information with us.
