another brand has sprung up in the firmament of the Italian Motor Valley: Automobili Estrema. Headquarters: Modena, the heart of the economic and sentimental district that revolves around the passion for cars and made up of cult companies (Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Pagani, Dallara, Ducati …), with their highly research-based activities and innovation, and specialized universities integrated into the productive fabric.
The mission of the new start up to design, engineer and produce in small series hypercars and supercars with “zero emissions”, using the most innovative technologies and the lightest materials. Engine of the company: Gianfranco Pizzuto, visionary entrepreneur from Lagundo, a small town in the autonomous province of Bolzano, former co-founder and financier of Fisker Automotive in 2007.
The first model of the Estrema family it was baptized Fulminea: scheduled for the second half of 2023, with a limited edition of just 61 units. Sar, explains the manufacturer, is the first road-approved hypercar to use an innovative “hybrid” battery pack, using solid-state cells produced by ABEE (Avesta Battery Energy Engineering) and ultra-capacitors.
The battery pack will be designed and manufactured in collaboration with the specialist IMECAR Elektronik. The transmission will be equipped with 4 electric motors with a peak power of 1.5 MW (2,040 hp) that will allow the car to accelerate from 0 to 320 km / h in less than 10 seconds. The battery pack will have a capacity of 100 kWh with an expected range according to the WLTP cycle of 520 km.
Thanks to the use of solid state cells, the high-performance hybrid battery (built with cell to pack technology) will reach a record energy density with 450 Wh / kg (equivalent to 1,200 Wh / l) with a battery weight of only 300 kg and a total mass in running order of about 1,500 kg.
