When it appeared in 2016, it was the only luxury SUV. Bentley has been smart, considering that it has sold more than 20,000 copies which means 45% of all deliveries by the English company. A success that convinced some rivals to try their hand in the niche (Lamborghini with Urus, Aston Martin with DBX, Rolls Royce with Cullinan) and could involve others such as Mercedes-Benz and Bmw. For Bentayga, however, the time of the first restyling that does not involve the engines has arrived. Therefore, the V8 4.0 biturbo petrol remains, with 550 HP and 770 Nm of torque: despite the mass of 2,416 kg, it allows the SUV to shoot from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.5 seconds and reach the maximum speed of 290 km / h. Subsequently, the W12 and a new hybrid will also be available, equipped with rechargeable batteries from the outside able to guarantee greater autonomy than in the past.

The stylistic restyling evident especially in the rear: Bentley has redesigned the tailgate, moving the license plate down in the fascia, and modified the headlights, which are now oval in shape and recall those seen in the Continental GT. The 2020 edition of the Bentayga also has a rear track widened by 2 cm; wheel arches are therefore more pronounced. In the front there is a wider and more vertical mask, once again inspired by the Continental. The headlights have also been renewed: the main ones, with the function of dipped and main beam lights, are now elliptical, while the secondary ones perform the function of daylight and are full (previously they were a luminous disk). The Bentayga 2020, always 514 cm long, is also recognized for the expanded air intake above the front wheel arch, which replaces the winged B-shaped one

The cockpit of the Bentayga 2020 obviously cared for, luxurious and widely customizable, thanks to the unusual dark-colored brushed aluminum finishes (an absolute novelty for the English house) and to the acacia and walnut moldings, previously unavailable. Like the previous model, internal configurations with 5 seats on 2 rows, 7 seats on 3 rows and 4 seats on 2 rows are offered, with the rear seats independent and set back. The 5-seat version has new seats, more profiled in the shoulder area, with improved padding and equipped with ventilation also for the rear armchairs. The rear passengers also have a real tablet, from which to control the heating and massage functions of the armchairs, the curtains in the windows, lighting and music.

To visibly change the dashboard anyway, where the new multimedia system with a larger screen stands out: connected to the internet and provides real-time information on traffic, weather and fuel prices. In addition, in addition to compatibility for Apple phones, there is also that for Android (absolute novelty for Bentley). Also present are the head-up display and the digital dashboard, with two graphics: the Classic displays tachometer and speedometer inspired by the Bentleys of the past, the Expanded shows the map of the satellite navigator. Among the technological innovations are the front headlights with LED matrix, each consisting of 82 light diodes: they regulate the width and height of the light beam, according to the speed and the presence of other cars on the road.
