“The French state has recovered 12 billion euros. This is a new record, the previous one dated 2015 with 10 billion euros”, announces Anne-Claire Le Sann. Three reasons explain these figures, according to the journalist. The first is “the settlement of very large cases, such as the dispute with Google, which made a transaction with the French State. Its files brought in a total of 530 million euros”, she explains.
Second reason: “We can also note the 158 million euros brought back by the tax regularization unit. It is this unit which allowed the very wealthy tax exiles to settle down with the taxman”, says Anne-Claire Le Sann. And finally, these numbers come from “better targeted tax audits thanks to the consolidation of computer data”.
