The company intends to appeal a court decision which obliges it to limit its shipments to essential products and to assess the risks for its employees.

Amazon says in particular “puzzled” on this court decision, “given the concrete evidence that has been provided on the security measures put in place to protect our employees”, recalling in particular having implemented temperature controls and distributing masks. Amazon also proposes to request a partial unemployment agreement for its employees in the administration, and specifies ensuring their remuneration at 100%. According to an internal document consulted by Reuters, the company plans to stop its activity in its French warehouses at least until April 20, the time to carry out a professional risk assessment required by French justice.
