In confined Paris, homeless people and vulnerable populations are omnipresent. They are looking for food and support. It is next to a distribution point in the heart of the city that Doctors Without Borders set up its mobile clinic. The coronavirus is on everyone’s mind. A young unemployed delivery man has been feeling feverish for a few days: a consultation here is an opportunity to take stock. In fifteen days, out of 50 daily consultations, fifteen patients showed suspicion of Covid-19.
Patients follow one another, confide. Listening is there, the diagnosis is made, but everyone leaves for the city. The special Covid-19 mobile team from Doctors Without Borders takes care of the migrants, confined to a requisitioned hotel. There are 140 out of the 500 evacuated from the unsanitary camp at Aubervilliers (Seine-Saint-Denis). A room has been converted into a medical office, where nurses check the symptoms of the cases reported.
