In Sweden, containment is still not widespread. Indeed, each country has not adopted the same strategy to limit the spread of the virus. Sweden has only closed its high schools and universities, but all the primary schools are still open, and few instructions on social distance have been communicated. The bars and restaurants remain open. Authorities are betting that 70% of the population will contract the virus and develop antibodies.
In the Netherlands, no compulsory confinement either! The authorities rely on the residents’ self-discipline. Restaurants, bars and schools are closed until at least the end of April. However, obtaining cannabis in coffee shops is still possible, respecting distances. In Portugal, the state of emergency is extended until April 17, and the streets of Lisbon are deserted. Schools closed in early March, well before neighboring Spain, and the picture is relatively reassuring.
