since 2005 that on every Lexus there is an electric engine to assist the petrol engine. Fifteen years later, the time of transition to zero emissions from ignition to vehicle shutdown. With the UX300e – the official debut at the Chinese festival in Guangzhou and then at the European presentation in Amsterdam – the Toyota premium brand takes the field to contrast the urban crossovers already present and those on the way, all equipped with electric propulsion. Focusing on technology but also on design that in the case of the Lexus does not go unnoticed. The draft version can count on the perfect design of the hybrid UX300, very balanced and sporty, the right one. The only changes are represented by the special aerodynamic wheels and a specific underbody cover.

The UX 300e takes advantage of the experience gained by the Japanese company with hybrid systems, which dictated the development of the 204 hp electric motor and 300 Nm of torque, the inverter, the automatic single-gear transmission and the 54.3 kWh lithium-ion batteries housed under the floor. Front-wheel drive, interesting performance: 160 km / h top speed and 7.5 seconds for 0-100 km / h. To monitor the correct functioning of the batteries, there is a system for managing the temperature, designed to extend their duration over time, avoiding overheating in hot climates. The batteries support a charging power of up to 50 kW in direct current (in 50 minutes it reaches 80%) and 6.6 kW in alternating current with a time of about 7 hours to fill up on energy. 400 km of autonomy according to the Nedc cycle.

Autonomy can be well managed by the Drive Mode Selec functiont accelerating and braking according to different situations. Driving, you can feel the powerful acceleration and instantaneous torque of the BEV powertrain by pressing the pedal and using the paddle gearbox similarly to the engine brake, through four levels of deceleration regeneration. Another plus of the UX300e: the LexusLink application through which you can check the battery charge status and driving autonomy. Charging controls are also included, such as the timer function to inform the owner when the vehicle is fully charged or to schedule charging based on when it should be driven later.
