The Lancia Ypsilon, as a child, must have fallen into the potion of eternal youth. A few figures: it has been produced since 2003, registrations have exceeded 3 million and last year it won 58,753 customers in Italy, compared to 48,559 in 2018, marking an increase of 20 percent. Among the factors that determine success there is its vitality, the ability to change face (colors, customizations) reinventing itself, but remaining itself: elegant and friendly, refined and comfortable, elegant and functional

The new version of this charisma is called Ypsilon Hybrid EcoChic. Electrification also involves this small five-door. The system is the same mild hybrid based on the 70 horsepower 3-cylinder 1.0 (combined with a new automatic transmission) shared by the Fiat 500 and Panda hybrid launched a few days ago. The hybridization of the Ypsilon involves an electric generator connected to the heat engine with a belt and integrated into the 12 Volt electrical network which recovers energy in braking and deceleration, feeding a 0.13 kWh battery, which recharges very quickly in the traffic or if you only face a downhill road. The electric motor delivers about 5 hp, which helps the thermal motor in acceleration and restarting after automatic shutdown. Under 30 per hour, with the gear in neutral, the petrol engine shuts down and the Ypsilon sails, saving fuel.

The speed of 163 km / h and with 92 Nm of torque I shoot it from 0 to 100 seconds. The Euro 6D-Final homologation one step further than the Euro 6D-Temp of the other EcoChic 1.2 natural gas and LPG. Throughout the month of March, the Ypsilon Hybrid is offered with a promotion linked to an FCA financing plan that reduces the prices of the Silver version to 10,350 euros and the Gold version to 10,900.
